Mpalane Fishing Lodge. Set on a plain in Maphelane overlooking the Pongola River as it enters the Pongolapoort Dam, this self catered lodge is situated 9km from the Pongola Game Reserve Leeukop Gate along a gravel road and can be reached by most sedan vehicles. Low suspension vehicles could make use of the Pongola Game Reserve South / White Elephant gate. The southern gate has strict gate hours (06h00-18h00) and an entrance fee will be charged at R20 / vehicle and R20 / boat or trailer.
Mpalane has its own slipway and jetty for guests to launch and moor their boats.
