Greengates Cottage is superbly situated in the old village area of Port Edward, set in a fairytale garden with lovely sea views.

This quaint private cottage is 100m from the sea and 100m from the village centre. A ten minute stroll along the sea front brings you to the main swimming beach and lagoon. Greengates has an excellent layout for two couples and is wonderful for small children and pets.

Pet friendly for large and small breeds by prior arrangement.

Greengates Cottage is fully equipped for four adults & two children. All linen and bath towels are supplied. Equipped with a colour TV with free OVHD (bring along your own DSTV decoder), DVD player, microwave, large fridge-freezer combination, stove and other kitchen utensils. There is a portable braai on the large covered veranda. A lock-up garage for one car & single covered carport is provided. The cottage consists of two bedrooms both with double beds, and two bathrooms, (one bedroom with en-suite bathroom leads off the veranda), a large open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen area, and a large covered veranda with patio furniture. A take-two bed is in the dining area for two children. A full security system & safe is provided for the security of both your and our belongings.

Items you should remember to take to make your stay more comfortable include: beach towels, toilet rolls & toiletries, mosquito pads in summer, charcoal, and of course food. PRUDENCE, our housekeeper, sometimes does personal laundry for guests in her free time. This is not part of her daily servicing, if you require this service please discuss fees with Prudence.

Take the N-2 South Coast Highway from Durban and travel ± 170 km to Port Edward. Turn left onto Owen Ellis Drive, towards the sea at the Port Edward traffic lights. Travel ±1.5km until you reach the small shopping centre on your left. The Post Office will be on your right. As you reach the small shopping centre on the left, turn right into Harrow Road and look for Lot 191 Harrow Road which is the second gate on the left, which is a green sliding gate with “Bill’s Best, Greengates” on it.
Drive into your “Green gates Cottage” garage and/or carport, on the right. Prudence, our housekeeper, is on site and will be expecting you (unless you have made alternate key arrangements with the office).
